GTR has been “on the air” for over a decade and is listened to by nearly half a million gamers every month. He currently calls Temecula, California home with his wife and three children.
What is the first video game that you remember playing?

What are your favorite games of all time?
” My favorite games of all time would be Super Mario Bros 3, Legend of Zelda Link to the Past, Halo Combat Evolved, The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt, and Bioshock.”
Which hobbies or pastimes do you enjoy besides gaming?
” Three of my favorite hobbies besides gaming are: Physical Fitness, 6 years ago I lost over 100lbs and I’ve made staying in shape a priority in my life that I am to the point of doing challenges such as Tough Mudder, Spartan Race and considering entering a weight lifting meet for my age group (I am 43 years old). My other hobby would be fishing I love the peace and quiet that it allows to just relax. And the hobby that has carried me for the past 11 years has been podcasting, I’ve been doing a gaming podcast (Unclegamer Radio and now Gamertag Radio) since 2006 and it has helped me get over my social anxieties and become a better public speaker in both my personal and professional life.”
Do you and your children play video games together?
“Yes! My son who is 11 years old and I play together all the time and one of our favorite games to play is Destiny and both of us are super excited to play Destiny 2. I also play Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros with my son and my youngest daughter who is 7 years old.”
How do you make time for gaming with a busy family life and career?
” It’s tough making time having a full time job, raising three children with my wife of 20 years and also doing a gaming podcast twice a week. The only answer I can give is you make time for what is most important to you and that includes finding time to go to the gym 5 days a week and carving out time every day to spend time with my family and maybe slip in some game time as well. It’s all about balance and I can admit that there was a time I struggled with that balance but if it means I miss gaming a few nights then so be it as my family is priority number one for me.”
