What is the first video game that you remember playing?

“The first game I remember playing was BurgerTime. And man I was hooked. But the first game I fell in love with was on the Super Nintendo, Super Mario World. Yoshi had me in love with the game. The world of Mario was something I think all 80’s and 90’s kids fell hard for. Something about Nintendo just feels like home.”

What are your favorite games of all time?

“My fave games of all time are Ark: Survival Evolved, Little Big Planet (all of them) and The Sims. I love Ark though and have over 7,000 hours in this game. Dinosaurs ,survival, unlimited builds and customization to make my character look like me. I have not gotten bored of it either 5 years in and NO REGRETS!”

Which hobbies or pastimes do you enjoy besides gaming?

“Outside of gaming I love crafting and spending time with my kids. My kids are 4,5 and 11 and we love to game together and we love to create things together. I also enjoy making music and doing hood rat things with my friends. LOL!”

Do you and your children play video games together?

“Yes, me and all of my kiddos LOVE to game together. Right now we play a lot of Minecraft and Animal Crossing. I really enjoy spending time playing games and seeing how incredibly creative they are. Gaming with my kids was always the goal and seeing my kids be these natural gamers has been one of the dopest parts of motherhood for me.

I also have zero holds barred and won’t hesitate to beat them at Mario Kart to remind them who runs things around here! But honestly gaming has been a great way to spend time together, to teach them about patience, to work on teamwork and to teach sportsmanship. My parents gamed often with me so it’s a cool tradition. We also have a weekly board game night that I love.”

How do you make time for gaming with a busy family life and career?

“I think you make time for things that are important to you. My family comes first. I only go live after their bedtime and I keep a schedule so that I am not tired when it is my time with them. Balance is key. We are lucky in the fact that my husband and I both work from home. So we are with them constantly. Being with our children is our cup of tea but we are also lucky enough to have the ability to do so. Though things around this office can get wild with 2 little ones running around.”

What is your proudest moment as a parent?

“I think my proudest moment as a parent was when I realized my kids weren’t just kind and compassionate at home but also at school. My son Phinley’s teacher wrote me a beautiful letter after the pandemic happened explaining how kind and loving my son was and how much she valued her time with him. She then reached out to call and started crying about how much she loved his heart. That’s all I ever dreamed of was raising a kind compassionate human, and I think I am doing a damn good job at that.”
